Edgeworth Street is a short dead-end street of Shawsheen Pines in the southeast corner of Billerica, running about 860 feet northwest from Alexander Road toward the Shawsheen River and ending near the Wilmington line. It was laid out on "Shawsheen Pines, Billerica - Wilmington - Mass.," drawn in April 1927 by Henry F. Bryant and Son, surveyors, of Brookline for the L. C. Morang Company, owners and developers (Plan Book 50, Plan 61). The plan crossed First through Sixth Avenues with streets named in alphabetical order, Arlington, Beverly, Columbia, Dorchester, Edgeworth, Fairview, Georgetown, Hamilton, Islington, Jefferson, Kingston, Lenox, Melrose and Newbury, in lots 25 feet wide and 100 feet deep. Edgeworth Street, the fifth, ran the whole width of the tract from First Avenue at the river to Sixth Avenue; the town line crossed the plan diagonally, so only its eastern part, beyond the line of Fourth Avenue, lies in Billerica. The plan gives no reason for the name beyond its place in the sequence.
The assessors date the oldest house on the street to about 1952 and the others to the 1980s and 2002. The Highway Department graded Edgeworth Street in 1979. No record of its acceptance as a public way has been found.
